All families have stories, some are rather more exciting/extraordinary than others. I am lucky to have grown up in a family that has researched its family tree for three generations, so many stories have been recorded. As part of my family tree research I often use newspaper archives and this is the best place to make discoveries about family stories…some of which are more shocking than others, but they range from Gt Grandpa George Turnbull winning the Ashington leek competition, to 3xGt Grandun
