It’s an absolutely crisp, stunning afternoon here at Haystack Rock. As you can see in the video, the tide is receding in the marine garden and in a few hours the intertidal zone will be exposed. As the tide goes out, denizens of the area will prepare for their time out of water. Sea stars, for instance, soak up cold water to keep themselves cool for the hours they can be exposed to more heat and sunlight.
